Planned Events for 2008
BassetsRus (formerly Mid America Basset Rescue) concentrates primarily on senior and special needs Basset Hounds. We do still rescue a youngster or two. And we work very hard to find them permanent, responsible, loving homes. In the future we hope our fundraising can grow in order to assist some of the smaller Basset rescues that are unable to hold large events.
Earth Day Waddle will be held in Lawrence, KS on April 19, 2008.
This will be our first Earth Day Waddle so mark your calendars! We all know that Gasset Hounds (oh I mean Basset Hounds) don't contribute any gas to the greenhouse effect. Right? Plan to bring your hounds out to show your support for Earth Day!
Just a reminder, the parade will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 19th. However, It will be a good idea for you to plan on being there by 10:30. The parade will start at the intersection of 7th and Kentucky. It will head east on 7th to Massachusetts where it will turn south and travel all the way to South Park. At South Park, as most of you know, there will be an Earth Day celebration that everyone is invited to.
The meeting place for the Waddlers has yet to be determined.

Basset Olympics 2008 will be held in Lawrence, KS
When: One Saturday in October of 2008 from ~12 to 6 pm
There will be costume contests, games, raffles, tons of fun, a potluck dinner for the foodslaves and more! It should be a howling good time!! This will also be our first Basset Olympics event! So start training those hounds for a great competition and you might just win a prize! The fine details are still being planned so please check back!
