BassetsRus Retirement Ranch, Inc. was initially established to care for the many retired-age bassets that come into rescue. Although BassetsRus is no longer actively taking in older & special needs hounds we still hope to assist Bassets, Basset-lovers, Basset owners, and Basset Rescues with helping out these older & special needs hounds.

Our mission is to:

1.  raise funds to help defray the veterinary costs associated with rescuing older &/or special needs Basset Hounds.

2. help raise awareness about Basset Rescue.

3. assist Basset owners that must relinquish their hound and match them up with Basset-lovers looking for a hound in the Kansas & Missouri area.  Although, I have moved to Arizona and Kim has moved to New Hampshire we have not forgotten the tremendous numbers of Bassets that need our help.  There are Bassets all over our country that need homes.  However, the high concentrations of puppy mills in the mid-west seems to contribute to an excessive population of homeless Bassets.
