Donations Prior to adoption, all of our Bassets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, wormed, checked for heartworm and started on heartworm preventative. Bassets that test positive for heartworm are treated prior to adoption. Veterinary expenses are covered by donations, fundraising activities and adoption fees. Our adoption fee is currently $150 to $200 depending on the age of the hound you adopt.
