Maggie *ADOPTED*

If you're interested in adopting Maggie please email Kim for an application. Maggie is in a foster home where she is getting some extra TLC. If you have any questions about Maggie please email her foster mom at lynn.wilkerson@cox.net. Here's a message from Maggie and her temporary food-slave:
My name is Maggie, or Maggs,
and I am one elegant pure bred basset (and a red head, too), looking for a
family to love! I am full of grace, charm, and patience and I have lovely house
manners. The only bark you will hear from me is a long low ahroooo if I have
topics of a timely interest to discuss with you; for example: Could we lay my
bed so that I will have access to the sun, yet not get too warm? Do you think we
should walk now while the sun is out or wait until later? Would you like to
"scratch" my neck since I am lying close to you? Or, if you would like to fix
some chicken for dinner, I would be glad to share it with you. I was an inside
girl at my old home, but I had a fence too. I am house trained, crate trained,
sit, wait, heel perfectly while on leash, love to go in the car, and I come fast
when you call me! I have never been mistreated and I am good with the two
bassets at my foster home. I would enjoy sitting on the sofa with you, but
could learn to enjoy a fluffy bed on the floor. . if that would make you happy!
Maggs here! Tell everyone I was adopted from Mid America Basset Rescue when I
was 2 or 3 and lived with my family about 8 years, and be sure you tell them my
Dad was my best friend before he died! Then my Mom found out she had cancer of
the brain and she told my family to call MABR after she died cause they would
help me find a new family to love (while she was sick I stayed right by her side
so she wouldn't be afraid). When I came to my foster home, I had a nasty ear
infection so they took me to see my new friend: THE VET! He cleaned up my ears,
gave me meds, and told my foster mom what to do. He said he thinks my infection
got nasty cause everyone was so busy taking care of Mom, but not to worry, my
ears would be good as new in a couple of weeks, and you know what? Now he says,
"Maggie, you have the healthiest and prettiest long ears I have ever seen!"
(Foster mom here: And when I called the family to tell them about Maggs ears,
they said they wanted to take care of Maggs vet bill.) Maggs here! When I saw
my vet this week he said, "Gosh Maggie you are such a healthy girl, and so
adoptable." I weigh 47 pounds and that's okay, but he said five more pounds
would be okay too. I am spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on all my shots,
my eyes are good and I had a dental a couple of years ago.
