Ms. Tuxedo AKA "Missy" *ADOPTED*

I may be small for my breed, but I'm all Basset. I'm decked out, mostly, in a shiny Black Coat and Tail. I know I'm good looking; I notice when humans whistle at Me.  I entered Rescue via a small town Dog Pound, and came there as a "nameless stray". My Fosters have taken to calling me "Miss Tuxedo" or "Missy" for short .  I like to clamber over brick piles and investigate under bushes, day lilies and tall weeds. Give Me an irregular yard; a flat stretch of manicured lawn is just boring. That's the Basset in me! We were bred to deal with irregular terrain.

Some days, I get to tag along to work with my host-Dad. Spending time atop the counter at a mini-golf location is Delightful. I meet lots of folks, and do it at near their eye-level. Since, I'm neither "ball aggressive" nor willing to jump down that far, my "greeter/charmer side" is being Well Used! I'm on my Foster-dad's "short list", of Great , Natural, "Greeters"! His customers & I like "Missy" as my new Call-Name.

I arrived in "Rescue " with nothing. For Now, I have use of a large loaner "Crate of My Own". I can escape to There, anytime! I can't bring it to my Life Home, but I've enjoyed it.  Who'd have thunk it, my very own Space! Uncle Taz respects it, ergo I must learn respect His crate. I do have a touch of "Drive to be Beta {Boss Dog}". Foolishly, I've made several miss-steps at my foster home.  I've challenged "Uncle Taz's" position as "sole Beta & Primary Pooch in Residence". My human Fosters told me OFF about that B4 Uncle Taz did ,but I didn't learn, until Uncle Taz told me Off for the second time.

Once I decided that This House could be MY home, I forgot my manors and started MARKING rugs. Yeh, that is supposed to be a Male Thing; BUT I wanted to do it, too. "Newly Comfortable/Adopted" Males tag furniture and walls, I just try to tag rugs. My current foster Humans are out-stuborning Me on this one. Heck, they've fostered Boxers, Bostons and a French Bulldog. When it comes to stubborn, they do it Gently, yet they Win!

In my own Defense, I might do better, sooner, in Life Home with a Doggy Door. Even by Basset Standards, I'm mellow and quiet. I love Men, and delight in People. I can even charm 17 Day-Care kids, at once. I happily endured their Gang Petting of ME. Did I mention that I LOVE Men?

I'm around 6 to 8 years old. I'm trim, fit, agile and charming.. I can be "free fed" on dry kibble, and won't over-eat. I have excellent passenger habits, too.  I deserved an interesting "Live Home".  If you are interested in adopting me please email my foster parents at jwilson571@cox.net

Yours Truly, Miss Tuxedo
