Adoption Information

Prior to adoption, all of our Bassets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, wormed, checked for heartworm and started on heartworm preventative. Bassets that test positive for heartworm are treated prior to adoption. Veterinary expenses are covered by donations, fundraising activities and adoption fees. Our adoption fee is currently $150 to $200 depending on the age of the hound you adopt.

Even though the primary goal of Bassets RUs is to provide a sanctuary for "retired" and special needs Basset Hounds that come into rescue we still get countless pleas for help in placing unwanted young Bassets.  If you need help finding a companion please contact us and we will do our best to match you up with a hound that fits your lifestyle.  Remember it's all about helping the hounds!
